Volume: Learn

Volume is the three-dimensional space within a solid shape. The units of volume are the cubes of the units of length (that is, if a shape's sides are measured in meters, then the shape's area is measured in cubic meters).

Cones and pyramids use the same basic volume formula of V = (1/3)*Base_Area*Height

For a pyramid with a rectangular base, we can use the specific formula of V = (1/3)*length*width*height

For example, the volume of a pyramid with height = 9m, length = 4m, and width = 2m is
V = (1/3)*4*2*9
= 24m3.
