Factorial
Factorial: Learn
A factorial is a special multiplication operation, designated by a positive whole number followed by an exclamation point (for example: 8!).
The value of the factorial is the product of all the whole numbers starting at 1 and ending at the designated number.
For example: 8! = 1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8 = 40,320.
In more advanced calculations, it is usually helpful to write the factorial in reverse order.
For example: 8! = 8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1 = 40,320.
If the number in the factorial is very large, it might be helpful to leave out some of the numbers using ellipses notation (...). If you do this, be sure to include at least 3 factors at the beginning and end.
For example: 15! = 15*14*13*...*3*2*1 = 1,307,674,368,000
