Perimeter of a Rectangle

Perimeter is the distance around a polygon. When in doubt, you can simply add up all of the sides of the shape.

Since rectangles have opposite equal sides, we can use a shortcut formula. If A is the length and B is the width, then

P = 2*A + 2*B
or
P = 2*(A+B)

Example: If a rectangle has side lengths of 6 feet and 5 feet, then the perimeter is 2*(6+5) = 2*11 = 22 feet.
